The Obama Administration issued a new memo Monday, Oct. 19 informing the U.S. Attorneys that federal resources should not be used to shut down medical marijuana clubs or persecute anyone in compliance with state laws regarding medical marijuana.
The memo that the Department of Justice released said, ""As a general matter....(you) should not focus federal resources in your States on individuals whose actions are in clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws providing for the medical use of marijuana."
California was the first state to permit the use of medical marijuana through Proposition 215, which allows people such as cancer patients, glaucoma suffers, and people with sever insomnia to legally use marijuana.
The federal government's drug laws have been in conflict with California's, and has created tension between the federal government and medical marijuana patients and dispensaries.
Control is in the hands of the states now on how to approach the use of medical marijuana.
While many users say it relaxes and eases their pain in a natural and immeasurable way, others are unhappy about the dispensaries popping up in their towns.
The most recent town in the area to ban dispensaries was Atascadero, and they cited the conflict between California and federal law as a main concern.
Now that the federal government will not be deciding the fate of medical marijuana, Californians can chose what is in their best interest.

I actually read a news article awhile back about how a woman was using medical marijuana to help her autistic son. Apparently it was very effective in his case. (Continued…)
